Bugs, Hugs and Drawnings

Here are some photos of the past couple of weeks:
A preying mantis that Jax found and could not stop talking about it. He put it on his shoulder and took him upstairs.
Lola, Jax, Lucas, and Maddox watching the super moon lunar eclipse from the back of our truck.
Drawn by Jax, a drawing of a man in a space suit
Drawn by Jax, a guy being spray painted. I had to ask what this was because I was concerned. The questionable "thing" is the spray paint.

First annual Ricketts-Wilson Camping Trip

Now that all of the Ricketts kids are living in one place, we decided to institute an annual family camping trip. For five days our families disrupted the lives of the other campers at Patrick's Point, and had an overall amazing week filled with good food, plenty of ocean time, and great memories.

These two...

Such buddies :)

Picking their noses for the picture of course.

This girl and her Papa... the photo says it all!

I have such great memories of exploring the tide pools with my dad :)

It was great to see our kids getting to enjoy them too!

Can't wait for next year!

Suprise!

Over summer break we thought we would carry on the tradition of throwing the kids in the car and heading out for an adventure. This is something my parents did for us when we were kids, and it resulted in some of my very favorite memories!! So without saying a word about where we were going, we packed our bags and off we went!

Day #1
Six Flags!!

Watching the dolphin show. Maddox especially LOVED it!

They were SO exhausted.

On to day two!
We booked a hotel in downtown Sacramento and stayed the night (the hotel enough was SO EXCITING for the kiddos).

Sacramento Zoo. Seriously, look at the excitement on Jax's face.

Overall the trip was amazing. It was so great to get some quality family time and a break from the remodeling!
